The sole purpose of this group is to present the specific aspects of canton Basel-Landschaft (Basel-Country), one of Switzerland's 26 federal states, which is definitely not Basel-City, but a region still proud to have declared independence from the city of Basel more than 150 years ago. Ask the native population ...

Please note:
The territory of this region is clearly defined (see list of towns below and wikipedia.

Please don't post pictures taken in Basel city (including its Zoo), Riehen and Bettingen to this group, as these cities/towns belong to another federal state of Switzerland: Basel-Stadt.

The idea of this pool is definitely not to have another pool with the same pictures as in the Basel city pool ...
The same applies, of course, for those villages in the region that belong to canton Solothurn.

We've made this group "invitation-only" to enforce this simple rule, because we've noticed that it seems to be too complicated for lots of people - and because we're tired of policing the group pool. Before applying to join this group please post a few pictures to your photostream that will fit to this group and tag them "Baselland", "Baselbiet" and/or "BL". We will check for properly tagged photos before accepting any new members.

There are 26 cantons (federal states) in Switzerland and for most of them there exists a small flickr group. Many Swiss are very proud of their local structures and would like to represent the specifics of their region in these group pools - not just anything Swiss. Group members in several local groups have asked me to clean the pools.

There are about ten general groups about Switzerland, and among them there is just one where your photos will reach a broad audience:

Fotos aus dem Baselbiet "vo Schönebuech bis Ammel"

Bitte hier keine Bilder aus dem Kanton Basel-Stadt (Basel, Riehen, Bettingen) posten, dafür gibt's die Basler Stadtansichten. Die Idee dieser Gruppe ist es, die spezifischen Aspekte des Landkantons zu zeigen (auch seiner Städte!), eine weitere Gruppe mit denselben Fotos wie im Stadtpool finden wir dagegen höchst überflüssig ...

Alle Fotos in der Gruppe müssen eines der folgenden Tags haben: Baselland, Baselbiet, BL. Vor Aufnahme in die Gruppe wird geprüft, ob im Photostream Fotos mit solchen Tags vorhanden sind, die tatsächlich im Kanton BL aufgenommen worden sind.
