About Barrier Islands

Barrier Islands are fragile, constantly changing ecosystems that are important for coastal geology and ecology. This group is for the discussion of undeveloped barrier islands; their form, function habitats and purpose. Pictures can be both aerial and ground based but should convey a quality of a barrier island. Photos of bays, lagoons and tidal inlets, when complementing a barrier island will also be accepted.
