About Barns / Modern Ruins
Seemingly, no other form of modern architecture has more examples of abandoned and deteriorating buildings then does barns. Perhaps it is a sign of the times as more and more people have gravitated from the country to the city, or perhaps it is because of the demise of the small family farm to farming that is controlled by large corporations. Whatever the case, what remains of these structures render a portrait of a time that is quickly fading away.
This group is designed to record a legacy of what was, and in some cases what still is, of rural barn architecture. Be they old and crumbling, or still being used and hanging on, if you enjoy recording this rich heritage in photographs, please join us and share your pictures with others.
