BarCamp Canberra is part of a the global BarCamp movement. The first BarCamp in Canberra was held on 19 April 2008.
BarCamp is a worldwide phenomenon that has grown out of boring conferences. The best ideas and dynamic moments happen in the hallways of conferences. BarCamps only have a hallway. No-one knows how they will talk, or what will result from it. Rather than vendors speaking, users speak. Rather than one person, everyone speaks. Rather than prepared presentations there are impromptu revelations.
