Barbie have many beautiful African American friends over the years since her debut in the 50s.

Brief History
* First Black Barbie 1980 used Steffie headmold marked 1971
* Original Christie mold- marked 1987
* Shani headmold used early 1990s
* Old Nichelle closed mouth headmold used 1992-2002(Holiday celebration was last doll with the headmold)
* Playline Christie/Nikki used Asha headmold 1990-2009(recently used on 2012 fairy doll)
* Nichelle headmold, 2003-Present(was used on Top Model Nikki and other collector dolls)
* Mbili face mold 2001-present(recently used on the S.I.S collection and basic no.8)
* Adria/Desiree headmold, debut 2002-Present (used on fasionista Artsy and 2010-2012 as 'Nikki' in playlines)
