About Barbado Blackbelly Sheep

This page is for photos of a very distinctive breed of sheep called Barbado, Blackbelly, Texas Blackbelly Barbado, and American Barbado. This Flickr group is open to purebreds, known as American or Texas Blackbelly Barbado and crossbreds, usually European Mouflon, but sometimes Suffolk, Rambouillet, and very rarely Merino, but they have to have at least one Blackbelly parent or show the distinctive Blackbelly pattern. Barbados Blackbelly sheep are welcome too!



I'm learning that whatever the cross and whatever country, Barbado are wonderfully unique! These sheep are gentle giants, intelligent, problems solvers, deeply family oriented and loving, fiercely protective and fun - who knew sheep had a sense of humor?!

Breeders/owners, admirers from around the world are all welcome to share pictures of this truly unique and wonderful animal, but please submit pictures of Blackbelly Barbado, Barbados Blackbelly, Mouflon, and their crosses only, i.e. Rambouillet, Merino, Suffolk, etc., as well as your stories and thoughts about living with such wonderful creatures.

Absolutely NO hunting pictures or "trophies" will be permitted.
