About Band Kids
This group is all about supporting music programs for young musicians and how we can raise awareness about the importance of performing arts in our schools and communities. This is a place to post all of those wonderful images of kids participating in various music programs around the world including:
- Marching Band /Drumline
- Concert Band
- Jazz Band
- Orchestra
- Solo performances
- Recitals
- Musicals
- Choir
- Festivals
- Competitions
- Parades
- Music Directors working with kids
- Or anything that will showcase the value of performing arts in our communities and schools.
In times of economic crisis, these programs are usually the first to suffer. We are losing gifted teachers to budget cuts as well as vital programs in our schools and communities. The Performing Arts are a vital part of a well rounded education, providing the disciplines for cooperative learning, teamwork, and self esteem. These disciplines build character as well as complement and enhance the student’s skills for academic success and leadership in their communities.
