About Areas of Outstanding Natural Banality
Commissioned by folly as part of the 2006 f.city Festival of Digital Culture
In your everyday life, do you find yourself drawn to dusty corners, stopping in the street to look up at the clouds, tilting your head to take in the gorgeousness of your culinary creation? Then you are pinpointing Areas of Outstanding Natural Banality...and you are not alone! Many people are pausing as they go about their daily routine, peeling back the layers of something seemingly dull and finding beauty in those things that others may dismiss as boring.
Don't keep these images to yourself, share them with others! Personal favourites are cups of tea, bits of rubbish, clever use of discarded items...the list goes on.
