About Balaio Garapa

Since we at Garapa are all Flickr addicts, and since we believe that some of the best photography nowadays is coming from Flickr and from people who not necessarily work with or live out of photography, we decided to create this "Balaio" (which, in Brazil, is kind of like a bucket).

Balaio Garapa wants to be a showcase for good Flickr photography, handpicked by the members of Garapa Multimedia Collective, a group of 3 photographers from São Paulo, Brazil, who have been working together to foster new forms of thinking and making photography in this digital era.

Our idea here is to show some good photography work together with short interviews with the photographers, that will be translated into Portuguese and published on our website (www.garapa.org).

Although it may not sound so interesting at first, we think the best we have is the desire to work collectively and collaboratively. Then, if that sounds interesting, you're more than welcome to join, submit your work and suggest any good work you've seen around.
