About Bahá'í Houses of Worship

Bahá'í Houses of Worship are known as "Dawning-places of the remembrance of God" (Arabic: مشرق اﻻذكار, "Mashriqu'l-Adhkár"), nine-sided buildings of varying design, open to people of all races, nations and faiths, exclusively reserved for worship, whether through the recitation or chanting of the works of Scripture or through silent prayer and meditation.

Bahá'í Houses of Worship are different from Bahá'í Centres where Bahá'ís may gather regularly. These are also different from other Baha'i Holy Places such as the Shrine of the Báb, the Shrine of Bahá'u'lláh and other historical buildings at the Bahá'í World Centre in Haifa and surroundings. There are separate groups for each of these, and for the sake of keeping this group nice and organized, we ask that you post your photos only in the appropriate group.
