About B&W Slide / Reversal Process

This group is all about black and white slides / black and white reversal processing.

This group is not about color slides (E-6) transformed into black and white digitally
This group is also not about digital photography.

Processing black and white film as b&w slides is fun, the results are stunning. I'm a slide person (color as well as b&w) and believe that there are much more people like me out there - this for all the b&w slide lovers :)

With the process I use at home, you'll need the following equipment:

- print developer
- stop bath
- stop bath hardener
- fixing bath

for 500ml bleach:
- 440ml (distilled) water
- 60ml H2SO4 (sulfuric acid, 20%)
- 2-3g KMnO4 (potassium permanganate) or 3g K2Cr2O7 (potassium dichromate)

for 500ml clearing bath:
- 500ml water
- 50g Na2SO3 (sodium sulfite)

The reversal process goes as follows:

1. print developer ~3mins
2. rinse

3. stop bath (+hardener)
4. rinse

--- from here you can work in day light & by sight ---

5. bleach 5-8mins [all the developed black parts must dissolve - film turns yellow/brownish]
6. rinse

7. clearing bath [the dark yellow/brown fades to a light yellow]
8. rinse

9. re-exposure [hold & turn spool under a bright light source ] for 2-3mins

10. print developer for 2-3mins
11. rinse

[optional: stop bath + hardener]

12. fix (opt: + hardener)
13. rinse

note: all rinsing steps are meant to be short - less than 1min.
