About Australia in the 1980s

Remember the 1980s? I am a curator of Australian history & society at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. We are thinking of developing an exhibition about Australia in the 1980s. Hopefully it will be on display at the end of 2009.

It’s all about Australian popular culture, lifestyle and everyday life at that time, including music, film, television, street fashion, design, technology, having fun, partying etc. We think it will resonate especially with people whose formative years were in the 1980s.

We want your shots that represent Australia in the 1980s. They might be photos of yourselves, your friends, your haircuts, places, possessions and events, but we want to see how you interpret this decade.
