About Austin Swing Syndicate

This purpose of the Austin Swing Syndicate Flickr group is to provide a forum to share photos related to swing dancing in Austin, from the mid 1990s to the present. The Austin Swing Syndicate is a non-profit, all-ages organization devoted to the care and growth of the Austin swing and lindy hop dance community (www.austinswingsyndicate.org).

Appropriate photos for this Flickr group include:
- Austin Swing Syndicate dances and the Austin Lindy Exchanges
- Non-Syndicate events and subjects (events at nightclubs, Four on the Floor, Lindy Project, Austin Lindy Hop, Engine Room, Soul Jam, Dance Contests, Kick Butt Blues, House Parties, Go Dance, dancer weddings, Austin music acts that are popular with dancers, etc..).
- Photos that originate before 1999 (the pre-Syndicate era)
- Photos from dancer parties, etc.., in other words, the photos do not have to be people dancing, the photos can simply be photos of members of the community.

Things to Avoid Posting
- Every photo you have, take an effort to edit and post your better photos.
- Photos from outside of the region (some photos from nearby locations such as Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, San Antonio are probably ok, but we want to avoid too many photos from outside of the Texas area). This is not meant to be the group to post every dance photo you have, just the photos that are of value to the Austin Swing and Lindy Hop dance scene.
