About Australian History and British Heritage

A place to post photos that tell a story about Australian history - anything that has made Australia the place it is today. In recognition of the enormous British influence on Australia's history, photos of British scenes or artefacts connected to the exploration and settlement of Australia are also most welcome.

All contributors are encouraged to include a short description explaining the historical interest of each photo, so we can all learn something from each contribution.

A final word about the group's pool and discussion threads. The identity of the group has changed over time and it was previously called "Australian and British History". No photos have been removed from the pool, so some early contributions don't have an Australian connection. Discussion threads were set up for various periods or themes in Australian history, but these have had little recent activity. They can be viewed by following the links below, for those interested.
