Katydownunder said: 'We stopped at Ararat Lookout (one of my favourite), it is so quiet up there and the view into the gorge is breathtaking. Just a perfect setting for a Black Eagle. And as we stood there it happened, a wonderful Black Eagle sailed past us nearly right at the level of our eyes. And even better, he grabbed his prey firmly with his impressive claws. He landed on top of a rock above us and later started for a flight again. This time he passed us just to cross the gorge and settled himself on the ridge at the opposite side of the gorge. Too far away. But we were happy.
