About Atrocitrees
Photos or videos of trees that have been incompetently pruned, horribly mistreated, and/or badly injured for no good reason, especially when the crimes were perpetrated by alleged professionals.
The purpose of this group is to mock, deride, insult, and heap scorn and shame upon the heads of those who pick up a saw and screw up any innocent tree. Maybe we'll even put one or two out of business.
Aside from all that emotional gratification, captions and notes pointing out what harm got done and why it's wrong will perhaps serve to educate a few people before they do more harm, or pay for it. Please include them.
This does not include silly but often theoretically sustainable practices like coppicing, pollarding, cordoning, pleaching, espaliering, "Tree Circus"-style sculpture, or topiary—when they're done right. Bad attempts at any of those, or heartbreakers like Quercus agrifolia done up in poodleballs, are fair game though. Gratuitous poodleballs are welcome, with appropriately silly titles.
