About In solidarity with the Hadidiya and Humsa residents
This is a group for you to post your pic in solidarity with the residents of the Hadidiya and Humsa Hamlets, as part of our seasonal Greetings Card Campaign.
Whats going on in the Hadidiya and Humsa hamlets
The Israeli Army has repeatedly demolished family homes, and the residents live under constant threat of being forced out of the area entirely. They are reduced to living in tents and shacks, and are denied access to water, electricity and the land needed for their survival.
How you can show your solidarity with the residents
As the Humsa and Hadidiya hamlets do not have a postal service, we are collecting your messages of solidarity to create banners or flags that the villagers can use to decorate their communities and, we hope, discourage the soldiers from harassing them.
1. Take a picture of yourself holding a message or picture of support - either get creative and make your own, or hold a solidarity message in Arabic (pdf) which roughly translated means:'We support you in your struggle to retain your land and your homes. Stay strong'
2. *upload this picture to our group gallery
It's as easy as, well, taking a picture! - so get snap-happy
