so surprisingly impressive as to stun or overwhelm

This is a group for images that are found on Flickr that leaves you speechless. A photo so awesome that when you try to comment on it the words don't come. You just gaze at it. The image can have a few views and comments as well as hundreds or even thousands. It can be digital, film, Photoshopped, graphic, or manipulated in any way. Tasteful and fine art nudes can be considered. You must be invited by an admin to have your photo added to the pool. Once you are in the pool you may join the "Astounding Images Group" and invite other photos into the pool that you find as your traverse the Flickr photo streams.

It is also a place for you to submit your own work that makes you think, "How did I do that!" Images that others have used words to describe like stunning, incredible, unbelievable may mean that you have an astounding image. You may request to join the group with a link to your astounding image so that you can be considered for membership and or inclusion in the photo pool. However this group will be heavily moderated. So what you find astounding might not astound the admins or moderators. That being said this is not a group for the thoughtless dumping of images.

What this group is not.

Elitist.. so that means the equipment that you use or your experience in photography has nothing to do with the picture pool. This is not the American Idol of group pool images.

Competitive.. There is no competition here. Only astounding images!

Egotistical.. Check your ego at the door. There will be none from admins or moderators either.

Also, please don't fear rejection or take it personally if your submission gets rejected. Try again. We want astonishing images here!The definition of astounding at the beginning of this is the guideline for images submitted or recommended.
