About Tenuous Links
Simply post a photo with something - anything - just barely in common with something that is visible in the previous photo in the pool! The two photos should be very different.
The link can be visual: e.g. One image has a window; the next has a plant on a windowsill; the next has a plant by a river; the next has a bridge over a river...
Or the link can be verbal: e.g. One image has a palm tree; the next shows a hand [Link: Palm]; the next shows 5 numbers [Link: Digits];...
The more imaginative, the better! However the link should be to something that is visible in the photo, so links like:
- taken in the same country, district or town
- taken on the same day
- uploaded on the same day
- taken with the same camera settings
should NOT be used!
Links that rely on the title or the description of the photo should also NOT be used!
Very broad links such as "sky", "sea", "Spanish" or "American" also should not be used, because these are not sufficiently specific to the linked photos - they could be used to link literally millions of photos!
No nudity please! Also no vulgar language! Let's keep the group family-friendly.
One photo at a time! Wait for somebody else to post a photo before you post another.
To identify/explain your Tenuous Link, copy the following into your photo description, replacing "your explanation here" with your own words:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/association/">Tenuous Link</a>: your explanation here
This will appear as: Tenuous Link: your explanation here
Please check that nobody else has beaten you to it...
If somebody posted a new photo to the group before you, check whether your Tenuous Link still applies. If it doesn't, please either change your Link or remove your photo.
HEALTH WARNING: Playing Tenuous Links can be addictive!
*** If you should decide to leave the group, please don't remove your photos from the pool! *** This would mean other people's photos in the pool no longer have appropriate links.
