This weeks assignment is to take portrait pictures. Bonus points for taking a picture of a stranger and starting the 100 Stranger challenge ;)

I find portraits much more challenging than candids or still life. Inanimate objects tend to care much less about you faffing around with lights, exposures, and apertures for ages. With portraits, by the time I get everything right my subject is often bored and not looking their best any more.

Remember "Add your favorite 1-3 photos, taken during the week of the assignment". It makes for more challenging assigments :)

The term portrait might have different meanings to different people, so I thought I'd clarify my intention for this assignment.
From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portrait) :
"A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant."
