ASH.uk (a group admin) says:
26 Mar 10 - Thank you for joining the group and adding your pics. We will soon start improving the look of our website and will be including some of your images to it.
About ASH collaboration (plz read description)
This is a group to share images on themes of smoking, tobacco and their effects. We are particularly looking for images linked to cigarette smuggling, cigarette vending machines and other displays, and diseased organs (due to tobacco use).
By sharing their own work and allowing ASH (Action on Smoking and Health) to use those photos on its website and in its various publications (usually reports on the effects of tobacco or on the industry), photographers can help us carry out our worthwhile work of public health (please note that ASH isn't against smokers, only against the harm caused by tobacco).
We will, of course give you credit for your work but because we are a small charity, we can unfortunately not offer financial compensation. We will try to notify people when we use one of their images.
Here are a few guidelines for the type of images we are after:
- Your images should not glamorise smoking and tobacco.
- Cigarette brands should generally not be visible unless this is relevant to the subject of the image (although partial logos are ok).
- You should own the rights to the images you post and should be happy for us to use them.
- Be creative and fun
- No porn or nudity
When adding an image to the group, please make sure that we can access a hi-res version of it and include in the description how you want to be credited (failing that we will use your flickr monickr).
We will not allow other organisations to use your work but you may get contacted by them directly.
Pictures deemed unsuitable will be removed.
