About United Way Alternative Spring Break 2007

For the 2nd year, United Way has recruited young people aged 18-24 from all across the country to spend a week rebuilding the Gulf Coast after the devastating hurricanes of 2005. Participants are spending a week in Lake Charles, Louisiana this time helping those affected by Hurricane Rita. The program is sponsored by FedEx, MTV and video game retailer GameStop/EB Games. The teams will be hosted by United Way of Southwest Louisiana and will rehabilitate existing homes, build new homes and clear and rehabilitate a Campfire USA youth camp. This is their story.
