About Artsy-Fartsy Portraits
Need an excuse to play around with all those filters you have in your paint program? Here it is! Take a picture of another living being and then submit it to filter torture, posting your results here.
If you want to better understand the group, see the first nine photos posted; they are of a lovely young woman named Francesca who was performing with the Kaiser Jazz Band at Disney's California Adventure on January 30, 2009.
RULES:
1) Living beings with discernible faces only. (Must contain eyes, nose and mouth. No jellyfish, stingrays or coral, please.)
2) Results must be obviously altered from photographic reality. If someone has to ask how the picture is altered, then it isn't altered enough for this group.
3) You have to tell us what program you used AND what filter. You don't have to tell us where the command is in the menu, or what quantities or qualities of this or that you used; some things can and should be "subject to the viewer's discovery methods." PORTRAITS WITHOUT THIS INFO WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT WARNING, although you are always welcome to resubmit WITH the required info.
4) You are allowed, even encouraged to post the original, unaltered photo for comparison purposes. Please let us know that it's the original.
5) No porn or even nudity. Everything must pass the "safe" filter. I don't want to waste my time deciding "is it or isn't it?" okay?
6) Photos only. No video.
7) Please, no comments on the subject's natural features except to suggest that the photographer could have handled it better with, say, a different angle or airbrushing. He may have the world's biggest nose with the world's biggest zit on the end of it, but pictures are posted to this pool for the purpose of commenting on the post-processing, NOT the subject's original looks. So just can those "God, does she have a forehead a mile high or WHAT?!?" comments. If I see that someone has made such a comment, I will ask the photographer to delete it.
