About The Art of the Commonplace

Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Are you changing your world? This a group for people who are concerned about their homes and their families, who reject the idea that our value is only in what we consume. This is a group for those who believe that an uncritical acceptance of the consumerist life can lead to fragmentation and alienation. This is a group for those who, every day, in small but significant ways, are changing the way they perceive their world and how they express those changing perspectives to their families and friends.

The Value of Beauty. Not general 'beautiful shots' flickr has plenty of those, but personal Beauty as it transforms and supports your own life. Please add titles and captions to photos in this section so your own personal sources of insight can inspire others.

The conservation and central importance of family life.

The value of Small. How in small ways and in small views our lives are transformed and enriched.

The value of Old.

The value of Particular as opposed to the value of Abstract.
