I'm calling on the readers of Art of Manliness to help contribute vintage man photos for the site. I have two goals with this reader project:

First, it will help us continue to include high quality vintage pics that many of you have come to expect with each post. Your contributions will definitely make this part of running the blog easier.

Second, and more important, this is a chance for AoM readers to share photos with each other of the great men in their lives that have had an influence on them. With each photo you submit, I'd love for you to include a brief description of who it is in the photo.

Every photo that is submitted will be included in the "Gallery of Manliness" that you can see in the sidebar. The photo gallery is broken down into different albums. For example we have a Family Man album, The Outdoorsman album, and The Working Man album, just to name a few. Readers will be able flip through the photos and read the description about the man in it.

Also, if we decide to use one of your photos in a post, we'll include the bio of the man in the photo at the bottom of the photo. And of course, you'll get attribution. My goal is to create an online tribute to these great men and preserve their stories so we can keep passing them down.

What we're looking for

We're looking for photos that can be used for a variety of different topics. Our only preference is that they be vintage. To give you an idea of what we're looking for, here are some suggestions:

* Vintage photos of your grandpa or dad while serving in the military.
* Vintage photos of your grandpa/father working.
* Vintage photos of your grandpa/father with their family. You know, photos with the kids, photos at Christmas time. That sort of thing.
* Vintage photos of men fishing/hunting/camping.
* Vintage photos of men with their wives or girlfriends.
* Vintage photos of men playing sports or just hanging out with their buddies.
* Vintage photos of men just looking badass.

Even if none of your photos fit in those descriptions, still send your pics.

1. Email your photos to pics@artofmanliness.com.
2. In your email, please include a brief paragraph about the man in the photo and what's going on there. If the image has any special meaning to you, please include it, too. If you think your photo would be good for a particular album let us know. Please include your name and location so we can attribute the photo to you. As soon as we get the images, we'll upload them to the Gallery of Manliness.
3. By submitting your photos, you'll be granting Art of Manliness a non-exclusive right to to display them on the site. In other words, you're just giving us the right to display the photos in the Gallery of Manliness or in a post. We won't stick your grandpa's face on a t-shirt or greating card. We can't do anything else with them without your permission.
