About The art of air conditioning

For the most part, it’s fair to say air conditioners are not pretty things. However, there are times where the very presence of an air conditioning unit had just added that “something” to make a good shot, or a whole bunch of them are a spectacle in their own right. This group is for such photographs.

It is considered that the Romans were the first to start experimenting with techniques for controlling the condition of air inside the home. It wasn’t until 1902 that the first large-scale electrical air conditioning was invented and used by Willis Haviland Carrier. These days, around 60 million air con units are sold every year. That’s roughly one unit for every 113 people on earth.

So, a scarily huge amount of units out there – each one a potential photo opportunity.

As the group continues to grow, I’ll be creating some projects and assignments for everyone who wishes to join in, entitled Air Conditioning Units. More details will follow in due course.
