Hi there...

This is a group created to pull together artistic images created using structurally based content.

A *snap* of a quirky, ornate or interesting building or building detail doesn't reflect the artistic or creative skill of a photographer, merely their appreciation of the end product, the 'vision' was with architect. We're ideally looking for shots which don't just say "Look, this is a nice building" or "Look at this fresco / gargoyle / detail etc etc...." ( you get the idea....? ), no, shots which aim to create a SEPERATE piece of art in which the structure ( or section of ) is merely a contributing factor to the end visual are the ones, as such we do have a preference for 'inspired' shots of the mundane.

Photos which feature people very rarely fit with the theme, in fact they don't at all...!

An easy benchmark when considering a post is - Could this image be hung in an art gallery? And while we're on the subject of Art - no sculptures please, some may argue however for me Sculpture isn't Architecture, it's...err......Sculpture, all very nice and I've nothing against it, but it's not what this group is for you know.

We are treating this group as prime gallery space so if your photo doesn't make it through moderation this doesn't mean we don't like your work, but merely that it's not totally *on the nail* for our group ideal.

Could you all please be nice and tag your posted images with 'Artitecture', oh and one more thing...repeating posts from members who's images don't hit the spot may lead to an 'advisory' email, and if you are unsure as to what would fit here just browse previous posts to get a feel for the theme.
