15 Sep 08 - Please post only your own work. Do not post your student's work in this group. Encourage other members. Artists who teach need more encouragement than anyone I know to continue to produce and promote their own art.

Note new name for group: Aritists Who Teach.

About Artists Who Teach

This group is for artists who are also art teachers in public and private schools. Have you had students assume being an artist and a teacher are mutually exclusive? Have you had admiring students (who see something you do as an example for your students) who say, "You should be an artist!" And you want to say, "Duh, how do you think I got to be an art teacher?" You know you are an artist first and a teacher second, but maybe your kids (and your teaching colleagues) haven't figured it out yet! Do you divide your work into two categories--your 'serious' work and examples you do for school? Do you end up spending more time on the school examples? Do you need some moral support and encouragement to continue displaying and promoting your own work, when you are swamped with duties at school? If any of this sounds like you, then this group is designed with you in mind! Please join and help encourage other ARTISTS WHO TEACH CHILDREN!

This group is to showcase YOUR OWN ART WORK, not your kids work. Do NOT post your student's work in this group.
However, discussion topics can be about things you teach and you can show an example in the discussion post only. But, please, DO NOT POST YOUR STUDENT'S WORK IN THE GROUP POOL!

This group is Invitation Only, but you can click on join to request membership. In the membership request, please state the levels you teach and what state you teach in and something about your own work.
