About Art for Buildings / Kunst am Bau

Art for buildings is permanently and closely connected with the building - interior and exterior - or is located in the urban space belonging to the site. Exceptional art for buildings can also be arranged on the public space of the periphery to the building concerned.
Art for Buildings – although appropriate to the building – is independent.

This could be, e.g.:

- particular murals or paintings
- creative-artistic made cupola e.g. of the Vienna Secession
- Stucco figurines or statues e.g. on "Meßberghof" in Hamburg
- Reliefs
- Fountains in front of the building, in the atrium e.g. patio of the Axel-Springer Publishing
House in Hamburg or maybe in the lobby or staircase
- scultures at or in front of the building
- ornament or astronomical clocks such as those in Lübeck, Prague or
at the Hamburg Stock Exchange
- Carillons e.g. on the Munic City Hall

Others like informative or decorative accessories are not welcome such as

- busts of the founders or
- memorial plaques
- beautiful wall tiles
- artful grids
- carved cornice etc.

Kunst am Bau ist dauerhaft innen oder außen mit dem Bauwerk verbunden oder befindet sich im Freiraum auf dem dazugehörigen Grundstück. Ausnahmsweise kann auch Kunst am Bau auch im öffentlichen Raum im Umfeld des betreffenden Bauwerks befinden.
Kunst am Bau, obschon zum Bau gehörig, ist als Kunstwerk selbständig.

Das können z.B. sein:

- Besondere Wandbilder oder -bemalungen
- künstlerisch gestaltete Kuppeln wie z.B. an der Wiener Sezession
- Stuckfiguren wie z.B. am Meßberghof in Hamburg
- Reliefs
- Brunnen im Gebäude oder Innenhof wie z.B. im Axel-Springer-Verlags-
gebäude in Hamburg oder direkt am Gebäude
- Skulpturen am oder vor dem Gebäude
- Schmuck- oder Astronomische Uhren, wie z.B. in Lübeck, Prag oder
an der Hamburger Börse
- Glockenspiele wie z.B. am Münchener Rathaus

Anderes informatives oder schmückendes Beiwerk wie z.B.

- Büsten des jeweiligen Gründers
- Gedenktafeln
- schöne Wandkacheln
- kunstvolles Gitter
- geschnitzte Gesimse etc.
