I have always seen working with flatbed scanners as an extension with what used to be a chemical process. In the early years, working with flatbed scanners was the only way to work directly from a digital image. In the 90s, some had gone as far as to attach bellows to their scanners. New processes potentially offer new ways of thinking of how we create, but some times, old ones are worth revisiting.
