About Photography: The art of Imagination
I have been looking for certain groups that would set tasks for people to take photos of a paticular nature, so every one can collate there photo's and see what imaginative ideas people came up with. I didnt find what i was looking for, so i have decided to do my own one.
I’m looking for people to join this group, so we can all have a go at testing our imagination again. Its a well known study that adults generally loose their imagination quite quickly maybe because are lives become routine or because of the pure and simple reason of having to "grow up" and "act our age" and forget how we let our mind run wild with new and exciting ideas.
I studied graphic design in college, and the hardest thing was keeping our mind running with new and different ideas and so we were given simple tasks to help our imagination for instance:
We were given a project to show different representations of certain basic things like "heaven", and here are a couple of ideas people came up with:
•Ladder going into a bright loft
•Big Iron Gates
•Man walking towards sun
•The clouds
•One was a bright Shopping mall over looking brake lights (brake lights meaning hell or devil)
All im looking for is for you to use your imagination and your photo skills together, to bring new ideas to a normally dull subject.
I will be emailing you each month with a new subject and there will also be a discussion page dedicated to it so you can comment on the task, particularly if your unsure about what to do. There will also be a discussion group added for you to add your own ideas of new projects for this group in the future.
I want this to be a fairly laid back group, but I have posted a couple of rules (please see below):
•Only one photo added at a time, please wait for another 5 photo’s to come into the group before you add another,
•Please be friendly to others,
•Try to give constructive critisizm
•Must give a comment about your own photo about how it reflects the current project
•Don’t upload photo’s for an old project
At the end of each month, myself and the other admin will select 3 winners, and there photo’s will be posted on the, groups home page
