Ok, my attempt at a mini photo comp, no prizes (yet),
tis for thinking about taking pics. and making us think , not for prizes.
the 6 themes will be provided on the day. you will get a piece of paper with them. and released onto this site at the same time.
all images must be shot on the day, all images need to be shot in the aroma rocks festival area. all need to be taken between 10am and 5pm, 23rd july. All images must be shot within the festival bounds, see the attached map.
they need to be uploaded to this site by 5pm (sydney time) monday 24th., that gives you 24hrs to do you photochop magic!
upload them to the pool. Tag them as follows
"aroma theme 1"
"aroma theme 2"
"aroma theme 3"
"aroma theme 4"
"aroma theme 5"
"aroma theme 6"
use the image notes for a background if you wish, make the image title something useful as well (if you feel it will help tell your "story"..
1 image per theme per peron only allowed.
raw/post processing is do-able, but this is about seeing / interperting the theme, not how good tyou are in art class. (simple colour correction, cropping, colour to BW conversion etc is allowed, but its judged on theme, not art/ability.)
EXIF data must be presented with all images submitted, correct date/time needws to be included. Thus it needs to be 1 Image, not a montage/etc,
basically
6 images, taken on the day, meeting the 6 themes.
once the images have been uploaded, we collectively vote on them. and all try and pick a winner, if thats what is wanted.
voting will end thursday 27th at 5pm.
winner's announced midday friday 28th.
how does that sound, please feel free to add any suggestions (and offer to correct my spelling).

THE ROCKS AROMA COFFEE FESTIVAL
When: Sunday 23 July, 2006
Presenting Sponsors
The Rocks Aroma Coffee Festival is a coffee-lover’s paradise. It's considered the largest coffee festival in the Southern hemisphere, featuring the smallest of roasters next to bigger coffee houses, all offering samples of their roasts and blends to the public for as little as $1 per cup. There is also a Domestic Coffee Machine Expo, coffee workshops, a Turkish Coffee House, the AASCA Australian Latte Art Championships, plus live music and entertainment all day.
From 10am–5pm on Sunday 23 July, visitors to The Rocks Aroma Coffee Festival will experience a baristic bonanza as more than 20 artisan coffee roasters showcase their blends and brews.
Consume as many $1 sample cups as you like and compare the different roasts as you wander through Sydney’s heritage quarter.
Whether it’s a plunger, percolator or serious coffee machine that brews your daily cup, the mysteries of grind, dose and infusion will be revealed in a series of free workshops by Australia’s leading coffee experts at the ASN Theatrettes. Entry is via Touch Galleries, on the corner of Hickson Road and George Street.
The latest domestic coffee machine equipment will be on display for visitors to The Rocks Aroma Coffee Festival to touch, see, try and buy, at the Domestic Coffee Machine Expo. Expert demonstrators will profile a wide range of models in Customs Hall on the upper level of the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
For some Middle Eastern flair, dip into the Turkish Coffee House at 100 George St with belly dancers, Middle Eastern music and coffeepots made from hand-hammered copper and brass. Enjoy strong Turkish coffee, brewed the traditional way since the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, while reclining on colourful cushions.
Smooth jazz tunes, laid back lounge and other earthy beats will complement the coffee aromas wafting through the air. There will be live music at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt, First Fleet Park, Campbells Cove and The Rocks Square.
