About diane arbus

I'm very little drawn to photographing people that are known or even subjects that are known. They fascinate me when I've barely heard of them and the minute they get public, I become terribly blank about them.

this group is inspired by and dedicated to diane arbus, because i love her and the way she intended photography.
it's a group about "normal" people you can photograph in the street or in their homes, or wherever you want.

so post just pictures of people and just black and white pictures, please.
and with this i also mean: photos where i (you) can see the face (the eyes), or the head, of the people.
if you post photos of "pieces" of people they will be deleted, sorry.
so, please, don't post just hands, legs, chests, eyes... etc.
extreme close-ups of the head are okay, if you really want to post them, but anyway i'd like to see more of a person...
another thing: diptych, triptych, etc. will be deleted too; and even manipulated photos will be deleted, if i think they are too much... ehm... "manipulated".
am i too "strict" or "unpleasant"?
i don't know. just tell me, if you think so.
anyway, thanks for your collaboration.

sorry if i am not very clear, but i am not english mothertongue.
if you have questions, suggestions, or whatever, send me a message.
another thing: feel free to invite whoever you think is suitable for the group.
enjoy.

(thanks)

Freaks was a thing I photographed a lot. It was one of the first things I photographed and it had a terrific kind of excitement for me. I just used to adore them. I still do adore some of them. I don't quite mean they're my best friends but they made me feel a mixture of shame and awe. There's a quality of legend about freaks. Like a person in a fairy tale who stops you and demands that you answer a riddle. Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats.
