About ARAPAHOE ACRES - Mid Century Modern Home Community - Englewood C

Fans and homeowners of Mid Century Modern homes in the ARAPAHOE ACRES Neighborhood of Englewood, Colorado.

This group is designed to get past and present home owners and fans to post present day and historical photos of ARAPAHOE ACRES and it happenings so that eveyone can enjoy them and research the neighborhood.

ARAPAHOE ACRES is the first post-World War II residential subdivision listed as a historic district in the National Register of Historic Places.

Developed and built by Edward B. Hawkins and constructed between 1949 and 1957, it is a community of 124 unique, modern homes.

Each home is sited individually on its partibular lot and takes in man considerations from views, lot size and neighbors. A variety of natural stone, brick, block, wood and glass join expressively, unified by an earthtone palette and horizontal forms.
