Stephen Buchan (a group admin) says:
08 Jun 07 - This cosmopolitan flowering plant family contains some 3780 species in approximately 434 genera. Although identifying to species level can be a challenge, at least most of the members of this family are readily recognisable as umbellifers with their umbels of tiny flowers and stiff hollow stems.
