Does anyone know how to add(watermark) my name to my photos using Aperture?

6 weeks ago, there was a thread about that topic here... Something about embedding the name... I believe that the consensus was that you need to move to photoshop to do that.

I use BorderFX in Aperture to watermark all my photos. You can use a graphic or text and adjust the opacity and size too.

there's a way to set up a watermark when you export your images. basically, you create a watermark in photoshop (your sig on a transparent background) and then import it into aperture. aperture will then resize it to fit your exported photo.

forget exactly where the option for this is, because i'm not on my mac, but it's there

Just create the image in photoshop with a transparent canvas and save it somewhere as a transparent png that can be used by Aperture.

@Electra-cute - thanks for the borderFX link, that looks really neat and will have to check that out when I get home.
I didn't know that some plugin's are free... are they usually free? I just assumed you had to pay for them...

Hi Shaloot....yes this one is free which is unusual. It works best on "export" to your desktop.....then upload from there to Flickr as usual. That way you don't have to eat up space on Aperture with yet another version ...now with a watermark and/or a border.

I use it daily and really love how fast my workflow is. I border and watermark every thing I put on Flickr which used to take me FOREVER in PS. This goes so fast . I wish I had found it before my big Africa trip .

Let me know if you like it! I figured out some things that confused me at first . If you get stuck just PM me. It's a super easy app tool to use

+1 for borderfx. I find it much easier to use then the internal aperture "export" method. Plus it allows me to preview how it will look on multiple images (and make adjustments). Lastly, it adds the images back into Aperture with a borderFX tag. I used to add copyrights to the images of a client of mine. I'm working on their gallery site: nadegephotography.com/
