Evidence Apple is actively improving Raw conversion

view profile

Paul Davidson says:

I know it's been stated in other places, by Apple and those in the know, that improved Raw support (upon which Aperture relies) would be part of regular upcoming system updates.

Two weeks ago, I filed a bug report / feature request asking Apple to improve Raw conversion for my Nikon D50, since at the moment, I use iPhoto to manage my photos, and I'm planning to upgrade to Aperture. I also suggested some ways the D50's Raw rendering could be improved.

My bug report is now restricted — I'm not allowed to see it any more — which means, I think, that Apple's engineers are addressing the issue and using my request as a reference in their own bug tracking system.
