hello! glad to find a group about ants!
 |
I'm always interested in ants. They are amazing. I read books about them and learned how they live in their 'world'. İs there anybody that have an ant farm? I read that it is a disaster to live in the farms for them.

I had one as a kid. They didn't live very long but were fastidious. The food outlasted the ants. Their life-span is short.
Neatly arranged the "soil" they removed from the "ground" for their nest. Did the same with their fellows as they passed. Queens aren't shipped out, so it's hard to keep the farm going.
But it was a good learning experience for me. It taught me that a colony must constantly grow to survive. And that I shouldn't undertake something similar until I had all the resources in place.
it also made me even more considerate of animals. I've always been fond of them, but this taught me that there is more than meets the eye with all animals.
