12 May 12 - Wikipedia became a success. Animalpedia hopefully will be the same. A complete and searchable photo collection of animals of the world (including mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians). We have now reached 2480 different species (and some subspecies) in this group. Keep up the good work. Thank you all for the great contribution. All photos in the group are viewed and identified with a reasonable degree of certainty.

About Animalpedia

Our goal : To create a complete and searchable photo collection of animals of the world (including mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians).
The features of the animal must be clearly visible in your photo and the animal will be identified and tagged with its scientific names and the english common names.

Please include the “scientific names” and/or the “common english names” of the animal in the Tag, Title or Description (if possible).

This is not just another group for people to collect a lot of invites and comments.

The idea of this group is that photos should be useful for identification. Ideally therefore the photos should be good and showing the whole of the animal.

Tagging photos

It is important that every photo are tagged with the animals “scientific names” and the “common english names”. These names can be included in the Titel, Description and must be included as a Tag. If not appropriated tagged, photos in the group pool can't be searched using these tags.

“Scientific names” and “common english names” of the same animal can sometimes vary due too different scientific name systems or in what part of the world the animal are found. So the same animal can have more than one “scientific name” or “common english name”.
In these cases more than one “scientific name”-tag or “common english name”-tag will be added.

If there are no obvious difference in the appearance of subspecies, the animal will only be tagged with “spieces name”.

If there are a clear difference between male and female. Please also tag the animal with “male” or “female”.

Please when you join think of someone else who would like to contribute and invite them too. This helps the group to grow.
Once invited as a member, invitations are not necessary for an individual photo.
.
Thanks and enjoy the group
