About Angora and Fiber Goats
Angora Goats! References have been made to this ancient breed dating back thousands of years in the Bible and in Babylonian tablets.
Their origin is still under speculation, but all of the Angoras in the world today can be traced back to the region of Ankara in Turkey.
Graceful and elegant, their fiber, called mohair, grows almost an inch a month and is used for everything from luxury garments to rugs.
In recent years a new breed registry was established in the United States called the Colored Angora Goat Breeders Association (CAGBA). This registry is for a new breed of goat! Goats with the beautiful curls of the white Angoras, but in many shades and colors.
