23 May 08 - Anachrome is the trade name of a particular type of plastic anaglyph glasses that are "reputed" to give warmer, more natural colors, over a wider spectrum than paper glasses. They also help to sharpen the image with slight positive diopter power in the red eye, and pass all 3 of the RGB colors through the right eye filter. That is due to a 2% intentional red transmission. Though not everybody agrees, thousand of serious 3D anaglyph users swear by these "optically tuned", chromatic glasses! Gene

About AnachromeIt is a compilation of any "good" photographs shot with the Anachrome," tight registration" anaglyph technique, whether intentionally or not. The USGS in their National Park 3D series uses this standard and refer to the Anachrome glasses as best for their "color accurate" and not very closeup images. Since these are public U.S. government property, (free public use) and they mention the Anachrome glasses on that site, I will post some of these here to sweeten the mix. Really any fairly tight anaglyph image is welcomed here. |
