The Amsterdam School (or Amsterdamse School, as it is known in Dutch), originally was the name for a style developed shortly after 1910 by architects Michel de Klerk (1884-1923), Johan van der Mey (1878-1949) and Piet Kramer (1881-1961), who all previously worked at Eduard Cuypers architects office in Amsterdam until the 1910s. Today it's considered one of the most prominent schools of Dutch expressionist architecture.
The most important examples of the style are found in Amsterdam, but also in other Dutch cities.
