About The Amsterdam SchoolThe Amsterdam School (or Amsterdamse School, as it is known in Dutch), originally was the name for a style developed shortly after 1910 by architects Michel de Klerk (1884-1923), Johan van der Mey (1878-1949) and Piet Kramer (1881-1961), who all previously worked at Eduard Cuypers architects office in Amsterdam until the 1910s. Today it's considered one of the most prominent schools of Dutch expressionist architecture. |
