About Amnesty worry dolls say "Stop violence against women"

Guatemala is home to the tradition of placing a worry doll under your pillow before bed to take your worries away.

Guatemala is also where 19-year-old law student Claudina Velásquez was murdered in August 2005 - and her killers have not yet been brought to justice.

At the World Scout Jamboree in 2007, thousands of scouts from around the world made these worry dolls to show they are worried about the case of Claudina and other women in Guatemala who have been abducted, raped, tortured and killed and for whom the authorities have failed to bring those responsible to justice.

Some of the scout's worry dolls were sent to Claudina's father, Jorge - the others live here as part of Amnesty International's campaign to Stop Violence Against Women.
