About America the Beautiful

I didn't create this group and do not know who did. Two or three weeks ago a notice of promotion arrived. Happens occasionally, so no big deal. Saturday it seemed appropriate to check out the administration. Whoa!! Glen's Pics is the only administrator. Big surprise. Looked around. Only 14 members. Not many photos. Since this is the third time this has happened I decided to see what could be done.

We are not going to change the basic premise, which is based on the song "America the Beautiful". Each posting must represent one of the phrases from the song. Your posting is your photographic interpetation of the song and the phrases. If my memory serves me correctly, the author wrote the song after a trip to Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs. These are:

1 Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies
2. For Amber Waves of Grain
3. For Purple Mountains Majesty
4. Above the Fruited Plain
5. America, America
6. God shed His Grace on Thee
7. Crowned thy good with Brotherhood
8. From Sea to Shining Sea.

I will remove photos that I do not think represent the song. A tag with one of the phrases will be helpful but not required. The tag lets me know your inspiration.

Since I am the Ruler of this group, once a month I will choose a "best" from each group.

Please look at as many photos as you can and comment on as many as possible.

All photos must conform to the basic premise. Judgements will be pretty liberal, but photos that do not conform, in my opinion, will be removed with no explaination. I am pretty patriotic.

If you are not from America and are offended by receiving this invitation, I sincerely apologize. Be assured no offense was intended. Merely an expression of strong patriotism. I hope your love of your country is as strong or stronger than mine for America. If you are not from America, your are encouraged to post your America photos here. I would love to see your photographic interpretation of the phrases listed above.
