The American West (post 1 ~ award 1)

WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN WEST!" We welcome photos of the Western US, from Washington State to New Mexico, California to the Rockies. We're looking for imagery that evokes that somewhat intangible spirit of the American West: wide-open spaces, exploration, rugged nature and taming the land.

This could be considered to be a superset of Flickr's "American Southwest" and "Pacific Northwest" groups.



We ask that you make sure that photos posted to this group are visually symbolic of the American West. In other words, when you look at your photo before posting, it should be reasonable that it portrays something of that unique spirit of the West. Please don't post shots of things that could be anywhere or don't evoke that spirit.

Americans are a naturally pioneering people living in a beautiful country...I'm not sure anything could be more quintessentially American than the West. Let's talk about that!
