About The American West (post 1 ~ award 1)

WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN WEST!" We welcome photos of the Western US, from Washington State to New Mexico, California to the Rockies. We're looking for imagery that evokes that somewhat intangible spirit of the American West: wide-open spaces, exploration, rugged nature and taming the land.

This could be considered to be a superset of Flickr's "American Southwest" and "Pacific Northwest" groups.



We ask that you make sure that photos posted to this group are visually symbolic of the American West. In other words, when you look at your photo before posting, it should be reasonable that it portrays something of that unique spirit of the West. Please don't post shots of things that could be anywhere or don't evoke that spirit.

Americans are a naturally pioneering people living in a beautiful country...I'm not sure anything could be more quintessentially American than the West. Let's talk about that! Post your thoughts about the West on our message boards. Please keep conversation on-topic and refrain from flaming your neighbors. :)

~ NO SELF-PORTRAITS unless the overall photo evokes the West.

~ There is to be NO NUDITY as this is a family friendly group.

~ There is to be NO SWEARING , NO TROLLS , and NO PORN.

~ No photos which show violence, political debate, or describe opinions against flickr.

Lastly, it must be your photo. There will be NO TOLERANCE for stolen photos from the internet or other sources. Please post only your original photos.

If the photo you post is a stolen photo, you will be banned from posting here in the group. This policy follows flickr's community guidelines.
