About Americans en Tableaux Black & White

Courthouse Mtn View Arkansas

I want scenes of every day people in America in Black and White In some cases a family pet, even a stray dog set against an interesting BG will suffice.. There should be animation... A photo of a great old Gas Station or General Store is not allowed...

THINK AMERICANA

So, You might ask: "Why the French Name?" Quite simply, there is no English word for this... better than Tableau... from the French "Tableaux."

Webster's Dictionary

1 : a graphic description or representation : PICTURE
2 : a striking or artistic grouping : ARRANGEMENT, SCENE
3 [short for tableau vivant (from French, literally, living picture)] : a depiction of a scene usually presented on a stage by silent and motionless costumed participants

Think of Street Photography but more: Scenes from the Barber Shop, Cafe, Class Room, Carnival, Baseball Field, the French Quarter, to Lubbock Texas, to Bakersfield and Honolula.

Think Wide Angle Lens .. the big picture that tells a story. The Background should help tell the story... No close ups, no street portraits... I want balanced Compositions Scenes of Ordinary people in their homes, jobs, at weddings and funerals, at picnics and rodeos...

THERE MUST BE PEOPLE AND A WIDE VIEW CREATING A TABLEAU...

Deletions

1) Your image can be deleted for not showing a wide enough scene or creating a tableaux.

2) Avoid Reduntancy... Don't post 5 shots from the same Rodeo... Don't post a Kid doing the Butterfly Stroke in a Swim meet if the pool contains several almost identical images..

3) Photo Realism Unrealistic images, photoshop creations, excessively blurred or poor quality images maybe deleted...

4) Ordinary Family Type Snapshots: Please think of a balanced thoughtfull, not stiffly posed image that is more "Composed" than posed...

5) Scenic Photographs... Even the best Photo of the Statue of Liberty, Niagra Falls, or the Post Office in Lubbock, TX will not be allowed... Include a person in context... perhaps a dog etc. I just don't want this pool to tun into a bunch of shots of Coca-Cola signs and Mountain Streams... People in Mountain Streams or even climbing Mountains are OK...

6) Nature Photography should in nearly all cases include People.. People viewing the Grand Canyon or Mount Rushmore. No great Duck shots... People hunting ducks are OK. A great thorobred in pasture... nope. A person at a fence watching a Thorobred is OK. No Portraits of a rose. A wider view of someone strolling through a Rose Garden is OK.. No Macro photography..

Note from 0z I am not here to discourage but encourage participation. If your image is deleted, I will try to view your portfolio and invite other images... I will post a polite comment to your image if it is deleted.. not to be patronizing, but to let you know...
