About The Last Bastion of Hope on the Food Network

This group is dedicated to Alton Brown and his wonderful television program, "Good Eats."

Many feel that Mr. Brown and his noble efforts to sustain intelligent, informative culinary programming represent the last glimmer of hope on a declining TV network. On a channel that force feeds us half-hour non-recipes and budget travel travesties like so much grain down the gullet of a duck destined for foie gras -- and expects that we can do no better for ourselves than to open a bag of pre-washed, pre-trimmed produce and maybe turn it into a "stoop" -- Mr. Brown believes in us.

He believes we want to know the physical properties of an emulsion. He beseeches us to consider the texture-killing crystalline structure of a frozen berry. He urges us to seek out those great kitchen multitaskers in the service of creating really great meals. He knows we crave information regarding the botanical classification of drupes. He cares about our gastronomic satisfaction. He does not care if it costs more than $40.

This group is dedicated to "Good Eats" -- the recipes and the driving personality himself. If you cook a recipe seen on the show, please post photos of your creation here. If you see Mr. Brown in person, say, at the Manhattan Fruit Exchange in Chelsea Market, snap a picture and please do share. Most of all, please continue to enjoy and support "Good Eats," before (God forbid) they yank it in favor of "Not At All Homemade, Not Even A Little Bit, With Sandra Lee."
