Are you an artsy gal who can't live without creating art in some form or another? Do you enjoy swapping with other kind-hearted souls? Are you tired of the nastiness that often comes with public swapping sites and forums? If so, then this is the group for you!

"Alter Girls" is a DIFFERENT kind of group. Yes, there will still be rules and deadlines, HOWEVER there is no rating system to make people feel like crap if for some reason they have to send something late once in a while.

There will be NO bitchiness or attacking of other members allowed. Anyone who does it will be banned immediately. NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES will anyone be allowed to publicly bash another member. We are basically going by the old saying; "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all!"

At this group, our members understand that life sometimes happens to the best of us. That being said, this is not saying you will be able to get away with "flaking" on a swap. And lateness all the time is not acceptable either.

Basically, just try your best. That is all we ask. IF you are going to be late, let your partner and the swap host know. If there is an emergency and you absolutely cannot complete a swap, please let us know that as well and we will try our best to arrange an angel for you. Again... this cannot become a habit. It is a kindness and should not be abused.

We will be swapping all forms of altered art, such as ATC'S, matchboxes, cds, etc. We will also swap art supplies/ephemera, slams, decos, creative letters, photos, postcards, trinkets... the sky's the limit! ;)

I myself (unchainedmelody71) will host a monthly swap for 2-3 different projects that will be the actual group swaps. Private swaps between members are fine also.

One last thing... I would rather consider this more of a community, or an "online family" more than a group, so if one of our members is having a problem in their personal life and needs a caring ear, shoulder, or whatever, I expect them to be able to turn to us for support and not be slammed to the ground because of it. As stated above, any cruelty or flaming of another member will NOT be tolerated and WILL result in termination of membership.

There will be a maximum of 50 members allowed in this group at one time. We want to keep it relatively intimate. If we are at our limit and you want to join, please feel free to contact the administrator. If you are a well-known good swapper and kind-hearted soul, we may be able to work something out. ;o)
